Rother District Council

Estates Coordinator (Permanent)

Join Rother District Council as an Estates Coordinator and help keep our property and assets running smoothly—supporting everything from day-to-day estate operations to long-term development priorities. If you’re organised, service-minded, and enjoy working across multiple stakeholders, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in Bexhill-on-Sea.

You’ll be part of the Estates and Asset Management Team, supporting the effective management of the Council’s diverse property portfolio while helping to coordinate key activities, information, and resources that keep projects moving.

About The Role

As an Estates Coordinator, you’ll provide essential coordination and administrative support across the Council’s estates and asset management functions. You’ll help ensure the portfolio is managed effectively, with accurate records, clear communication, and reliable support for internal and external partners.

This role is based in Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex and is full time (37 hours per week).

What You’ll Do

You’ll support the team across a wide range of estates-related activity, helping to keep work organised, information up to date, and key actions progressing. Your day-to-day will include:

  • Coordinate estates and asset management activities to support effective delivery of service needs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records relating to properties, assets, and related administration.
  • Support the planning and organisation of estate-related tasks and workflows, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Assist with information gathering and preparation of materials for internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Work with colleagues across the Council to help resolve queries and ensure smooth coordination.
  • Help track progress of requests and actions, escalating issues where appropriate.
  • Contribute to maintaining clear communication channels so stakeholders know what’s happening and when.
  • Support compliance-focused activity by helping keep relevant information accurate and accessible.
  • Provide administrative coordination that supports ongoing management and development of the property portfolio.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who brings structure, reliability, and a collaborative approach. You don’t need to know everything about estates on day one—you do need the drive to learn quickly and the confidence to coordinate effectively.

  • Strong organisational skills with an ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accurate record keeping.
  • Good communication skills—able to work professionally with a range of stakeholders.
  • A service-oriented mindset and a willingness to support the team wherever needed.
  • Comfortable using office systems and databases to maintain information and track actions.
  • Ability to follow processes and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Professional, calm approach when managing requests, queries, and deadlines.

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Experience in an administrative, coordination, or property/estates support role.
  • Familiarity with asset/property administration practices or local government environments.
  • Basic understanding of how property portfolios are managed and maintained.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

Rother District Council is committed to supporting communities and enabling essential services. In this role, you’ll help ensure the Council’s property portfolio is supported in a way that makes daily operations more effective and supports future development goals.

  • Meaningful work that supports businesses, communities, and public services.
  • A collaborative team environment where coordination and accuracy matter.
  • The opportunity to develop your skills within Estates and Asset Management.

Benefits

We’ll support you with a benefits package designed to help you thrive. Benefits may include (subject to role and eligibility):

  • Competitive annual salary of £27,944 – £30,399 per annum.
  • Permanent contract with full-time hours (37 hours/week).
