About The Role
Love the idea of supporting real business operations while building your IT career? We’re looking for a Finance & IT Assistant to join an established company in Cambridge. This is a hands-on, entry-level role where you’ll support day-to-day IT operations and help with finance administration—all while working alongside experienced teams who will help you grow.
Whether you’re a recent graduate or early in your career, this role is ideal if you’re proactive, curious, and eager to learn. No prior experience is required—just the right attitude, strong basic IT confidence, and a willingness to take ownership.
What You’ll Do
You’ll play an important supporting role across both finance and IT. Expect a mix of practical tasks, process support, and troubleshooting—keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
- Assist with IT support including basic troubleshooting and responding to internal requests
- Help maintain systems and equipment (e.g., user access support, device setup support, and routine checks)
- Support business operations by keeping workflows organized and ensuring requests are tracked properly
- Provide finance administration support with day-to-day tasks to keep processes on track
- Support invoice and payment workflows (e.g., data entry, verification, and document handling)
- Maintain accurate records and follow internal processes for finance documentation
- Coordinate with stakeholders to gather information, resolve issues, and keep tasks moving
- Contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting ways to streamline processes and reduce errors
- Learn and develop through training and real exposure to both IT support and finance operations
What We’re Looking For
This role is a great fit for someone who’s early in their career and ready to build confidence through learning and responsibility. You don’t need experience—you need capability, reliability, and enthusiasm.
- Strong basic IT skills (confidence with common software, troubleshooting mindset)
- Comfort learning new tools quickly and applying them accurately
- Good attention to detail, especially when handling records and information
- Organized and proactive—you take initiative and follow tasks through
- Clear communication with the ability to explain issues and next steps
- Professional, dependable attitude and willingness to support multiple teams
- Motivation to grow in both IT support and finance administration
- Relevant background is a plus (e.g., recent graduate in IT, Accounting, or a related discipline)
Why You’ll Love This Role
- Real-world exposure across IT support and finance administration—not just theory
- Entry-level friendly with a supportive environment that values learning
- Varied work that keeps things interesting and helps you build broad operational skills
- Career development potential as you gain confidence and understanding of business systems
- Cambridge location with an established organization and long-term stability
Benefits
- Competitive salary in the range of £25,000–£28,000 (based on experience and fit)
- Opportunities to develop through mentorship and on-the-job training
- Supportive team environment with clear processes and room to grow
- Exposure to multiple business functions to strengthen your CV and future career options
