Genetic Counseling Assistant — Help Keep Clinical Genetic Testing Moving
MyOme is building a new standard for clinically actionable genetic information—powered by whole genome sequencing, advanced AI interpretation, and a digital experience that patients and providers can actually use. If you’re detail-obsessed, enjoy healthcare operations, and want exposure to the clinical side of genetic testing, this role is for you.
As a Genetic Counseling Assistant supporting our Clinical Affairs team, you’ll help ensure orders, documentation, and participant-facing study logistics run smoothly—so genetic information can reach the right people, at the right time.
About The Role
This is an administrative and operational support role within Clinical Affairs. You’ll work closely with genetic counselors and internal teams to keep genetic testing workflows organized, documented, and on track. While you don’t need prior counseling experience, a strong interest in genetics and healthcare is a plus.
What You’ll Do
- Track and manage genetic testing orders to support timely processing and accurate workflow status updates.
- Support clinical documentation, including organizing, maintaining, and ensuring materials are complete and up to date.
- Coordinate provider communications by helping prepare and manage outreach, requests, and follow-ups as needed.
- Maintain internal records and databases using spreadsheets and other tools to ensure workflow visibility and traceability.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with genetic counselors and other team members to keep day-to-day operations running smoothly.
- Coordinate participant-facing study logistics for clinical studies, including scheduling, engagement touchpoints, and retention support.
- Support operational consistency by helping standardize processes, keeping logs accurate, and flagging issues early.
- Help ensure smooth handoffs between teams involved in genetic testing workflow and clinical study execution.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare, biology, genetics, or related field.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail—able to manage multiple moving parts without losing track.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, comfortable drafting clear messages and coordinating with providers and internal stakeholders.
- Comfort with digital tools, databases, and spreadsheets (you’ll be maintaining and updating workflow information regularly).
- Interest in genetics, genetic counseling, or healthcare (preferred, but not required).
- Reliability and discretion when handling sensitive clinical-related information.
- A collaborative mindset—you enjoy working with smart teams and helping operations stay efficient.
