You’ll be part of a supportive care team, working in line with Caremark policies and procedures, and stepping in where help is needed—whether that’s personal care, mobility support, light household tasks, or simply companionship and encouragement.

About The Role

This role focuses on sharing with other staff the personal care and support needs of customers in a way that:

  • Respects the dignity of each individual
  • Promotes independence wherever possible
  • Provides support that would reasonably be given by a member of the client’s family
  • Does not include tasks that would normally be undertaken by a trained nurse

What You’ll Do

Your day-to-day work will include a blend of personal care, practical support, and meaningful interaction. You’ll support clients with a level of care tailored to their needs—always with patience, empathy, and professionalism.

  • Personal care support

    • Assist clients who need help getting up and going to bed (mornings and evenings)
    • Support with dressing and undressing
    • Assist with washing, bathing, and personal hygiene
    • Support clients with toileting
  • Mobility and physical disability support

    • Help with mobility and physical disabilities
    • Support with incontinence care
    • Use personal aids and equipment appropriately
  • Short-term illness and comfort care

    • Care for clients who are temporarily sick
    • Provide bed nursing support (within the care assistant scope)
    • Support with feeding and general comfort needs
  • End-of-life support

    • Provide care and support for clients who are terminally ill
    • Maintain dignity, comfort, and emotional support at all times
  • Encouraging mental and physical activity

    • Promote engagement through conversation and companionship
    • Support outings where appropriate
    • Encourage reading, writing, hobbies, and recreations
  • Practical home support

    • Make and change beds
    • Carry out light cleaning
    • Empty commodes and maintain cleanliness and hygiene
    • General tidying to keep the client’s space comfortable
  • Clothing care

    • Inspect clients’ clothes
    • Support with laundering
    • Mend clothing when needed
  • Meals and mealtime assistance

    • Set tables and prepare trays
    • Prepare and serve light meals
    • Clear away and assist with washing up
  • Communication, documentation, and teamwork

    • Read and write reports
    • Be involved in clients’ reviews
    • Support and participate in training activities
  • Safety, policy, and reporting

    • Adhere to all Caremark policies and procedures at all times
    • Report significant changes in a client’s health or circumstances to the Field Care Supervisor or Care Manager
  • Independence-first approach

    • Encourage independence wherever possible
    • Offer support while helping clients retain control and confidence
