About The Role

As a Senior DevOps Engineer at Lemon.io, you’ll take responsibility for production-ready environments and help startups move faster with reliable, scalable infrastructure.
You’ll work directly with clients (many of whom have technical backgrounds), and you’ll have the autonomy to deliver without being tracked or managed like a ticket factory.

Compensation is based on your skills and experience. Lemon.io has already paid out $11M+ to engineers—so you can expect a serious, fair process.

What You’ll Do

• Design and build infrastructure from scratch—turn requirements into working environments that support real application architecture.
• Automate and manage deployments using modern DevOps practices and tooling.
• Provision and operate cloud resources across one or more platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, or Azure DevOps).
• Use Terraform and Kubernetes (or comparable approaches) to create repeatable, reliable infrastructure.
• Support platform reliability by monitoring issues, improving stability, and resolving incidents when they occur.
• Work with SQL where needed to support operational workflows, data access, and system troubleshooting.
• Collaborate directly with clients—discuss business tasks, justify technical decisions, and communicate risks and blockers clearly.
• Deliver quickly after onboarding, ramping into the project and starting to improve outcomes fast.

How You’ll Work

• Remote-first with flexibility: communicate async or with minimal overlap during team working hours.
• No micromanagement or screen trackers—we respect senior engineering judgment.
• Direct client communication with teams that are often technically strong.
• Startup-paced delivery: most projects move fast, and you’ll be expected to keep systems moving with them.

What We’re Looking For

• 4+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer.
• At least 3 years working with Python or Bash.
• 3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or Azure DevOps.
• Experience in at least 2 commercial projects using Terraform, Kubernetes, or SQL.

Beyond tooling, we care about how you think and how you communicate.

• Strong technical ownership: as a Senior DevOps Engineer, you should be able to create projects from scratch and understand application architecture deeply—not just “make it work,” but make it work well.
• Clear English communication: advanced ability to discuss business tasks, justify decisions, and communicate issues professionally.
• Good self-presentation for upcoming client calls—confident, concise, and technically grounded.
• Self-organization: able to work full-time remotely without supervision and keep delivery on track.
• Reliability: you’ll be trusted to deliver, and you won’t leave the team or the client hanging.
• Adaptability and flexibility: you can onboard promptly after accepting a project and begin producing results quickly.
