About The Role
As Hospitality & Events Manager, you’ll oversee the full hospitality and events operation at WWT Slimbridge. You’ll manage guest accommodation, coordinate corporate bookings, and deliver high-quality events and functions—all while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, quality, and guest care.
This is a permanent role working 37.5 hours per week (typically 5 days from 7 including weekends and bank holidays), based at WWT Slimbridge, GL2.
What You’ll Do
You’ll be responsible for ensuring guests and clients receive a consistently excellent experience—whether they’re staying on site, booking a corporate visit, or attending an event. Your role blends operational leadership with customer-focused management.
- Oversee guest accommodation, ensuring rooms and facilities are presented to a high standard and ready for arrival
- Manage corporate bookings from enquiry through to confirmation, coordinating details and timelines
- Plan and deliver events and functions, ensuring smooth day-of execution and a professional guest journey
- Maintain service quality and standards across hospitality and events, reflecting WWT’s values and reputation
- Coordinate with internal teams to align schedules, guest requirements, and operational needs
- Ensure effective communication across stakeholders, including guests, clients, and colleagues
- Support staff and operational planning to ensure coverage and consistent service delivery across the week
- Handle day-to-day operational issues promptly and calmly, protecting guest experience at all times
- Deliver a polished, professional service in line with policies, procedures, and best practice
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who thrives in a guest-facing environment and takes pride in delivering high standards. You’ll be confident managing multiple priorities, leading through service, and keeping operations running smoothly—especially during busy periods.
- Strong hospitality and events experience, ideally with responsibility for end-to-end coordination
- Proven ability to manage guests and clients professionally, from first contact to completion
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing demands
- Strong attention to detail, especially around service standards and guest experience
- Comfortable working weekends and bank holidays as part of a 5-days-from-7 pattern
- Leadership mindset—able to support teams and maintain consistent service quality
- Clear communication and confidence coordinating with multiple stakeholders
- A customer-first approach with professionalism and warmth
