About The Role

Absolute Recruit is partnering with a fast-growing company in Manchester to hire a Finance Assistant. This position sits within a tight-knit, highly commercial finance team. You’ll work closely with colleagues across finance and wider stakeholders, supporting day-to-day processes while also getting chances to develop your skills in a more business-focused environment.

This is ideal for someone who’s comfortable with finance fundamentals, enjoys problem-solving, and wants to grow beyond routine processing into more commercial, fast-paced work.

What You’ll Do

• Support the team with day-to-day finance operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing
• Help maintain financial records and support month-end activities to keep reporting on track
• Process and review invoices, payments, and reconciliations with a strong attention to detail
• Assist with accounts-related queries, investigating discrepancies and escalating where appropriate
• Contribute to financial controls by following processes, maintaining documentation, and ensuring compliance
• Work alongside the wider finance team to support commercial reporting and business insights
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure information is accurate and deadlines are met
• Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline processes

What We’re Looking For

• Some finance experience (e.g., transactional finance, accounts support, AP/AR, or similar)
• Strong attention to detail and confidence working with numbers
• A proactive, can-do approach—comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Good communication skills, with the ability to explain issues clearly and professionally
• Comfortable handling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines reliably
• Experience with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel (or the willingness to get up to speed quickly)
• Interest in developing beyond transactional work into a more commercial finance environment
