Dreams Ltd

About The Role

Build and lead the engineering engine behind our eCommerce experience. As an Engineering Manager for Ecommerce Front-End & QA, you’ll be the day-to-day technology deputy to the Head of Ecommerce, driving both front-end delivery and test/quality outcomes. If you love turning complexity into dependable releases—while coaching teams to do their best work—this is your role.

Location: Loudwater, Buckinghamshire
Company: Dreams Ltd.

What You’ll Do

You’ll own the day-to-day delivery rhythm for our eCommerce front-end and QA function—ensuring we ship stable, high-performing experiences customers can rely on.

  • Lead daily execution as the technology deputy to the Head of Ecommerce—helping translate strategy into practical delivery.
  • Manage and grow front-end engineering and test teams, ensuring clear ownership, strong engineering practices, and continuous improvement.
  • Improve delivery predictability by strengthening planning, estimation, and dependency management.
  • Increase release confidence through robust QA approaches, smarter test coverage, and higher-quality release pipelines.
  • Drive quality across the stack—partnering with engineering and product to ensure issues are prevented, not just detected.
  • Maintain a stable, high-performing eCommerce experience by overseeing engineering standards, performance considerations, and operational readiness.
  • Set and monitor quality metrics (e.g., defect trends, test effectiveness, release stability) and use them to guide decisions.
  • Remove blockers quickly—aligning stakeholders, unblocking teams, and reducing friction in delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners across product, design, and operations to align on priorities and outcomes.
  • Promote engineering excellence—supporting clean code standards, sustainable architecture, and consistent delivery habits.

How You’ll Lead

This role isn’t just about managing tasks—it’s about building a team that can deliver confidently, repeatedly, and sustainably.

  • Coach engineers and testers with a focus on technical growth, ownership, and collaboration.
  • Establish clear ways of working: sprint/iteration planning, risk management, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure test processes and QA practices evolve as the product and platform change.
  • Work to improve confidence in releases through disciplined quality gates and feedback loops.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll bring strong engineering leadership, hands-on managerial instincts, and a track record of improving quality and delivery outcomes.

  • Proven experience as an Engineering Manager (or similar leadership role) leading delivery and team performance.
  • Strong understanding of front-end engineering practices and how they impact customer experience and performance.
  • Experience leading QA strategy—test planning, test automation thinking, and quality measurement.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve delivery predictability (planning rigor, dependency handling, risk reduction).
  • Comfort working with engineering stakeholders to raise release confidence and reduce production defects.
  • Excellent communication skills—able to align teams, influence decisions, and keep priorities clear.
  • A coaching mindset: you develop people, not just output.
  • Experience working in a fast-moving product environment where reliability and speed must coexist.

Why Dreams Ltd.
