About The Role
The City of Sacramento is seeking an Administrative Analyst to provide high-level administrative and technical support for the City Clerk’s division. You’ll perform analytical work, coordinate processes, and support division and department operations by conducting research, assisting with records and legislative-related functions, and helping ensure information and documentation are managed correctly and consistently.
This position is ideal for someone who can translate complex requirements into clear, organized actions—while maintaining professionalism, discretion, and a strong commitment to public service.
What You’ll Do
- Perform research and analysis to support administrative and technical functions for the City Clerk’s work.
- Assist with records management activities, including organizing, tracking, and supporting appropriate handling of city records and documentation.
- Provide support for archives and public agency documentation processes, ensuring materials are managed in accordance with established requirements.
- Support legislative and governance-related workflows by helping coordinate documentation and administrative tasks tied to public decision-making.
- Collaborate with multiple stakeholders—including internal departments and external partners—to gather information, resolve questions, and keep work moving.
- Prepare and maintain clear documentation to support ongoing operations, audits, and continuity of records-related work.
- Support division/department operations by performing the full range of administrative and technical duties necessary to keep services running efficiently.
- Apply attention to detail to ensure information is accurate, complete, and handled appropriately.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and contribute to more efficient administrative workflows.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for an analytical, dependable professional with experience working in local government or public-sector environments—especially where documentation, records, and legislative/public agency processes matter.
- Experience conducting research in local government, a public agency, or a related public-sector environment.
- Experience with archives, records management, and/or public agency documentation practices.
- Familiarity with legislative, governance, or administrative processes in a public setting.
- Ability to perform administrative and technical support functions with a high level of accuracy and consistency.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with multiple stakeholders and handle requests professionally.
- Demonstrated ability to organize information, track details, and maintain documentation that supports operational needs.
- A service-oriented mindset—comfortable supporting teams and serving the public through diligent administrative work.
Note: The role requires the ability to perform a broad set of administrative and technical duties. If you’ve worked in city, county, special district, or similar public agency environments—especially in records, archives, or legislative support—your background will likely align well.
