GD Mission Systems

Cyber Security Analyst (SIEM Engineering) — Help Defend Systems Across the Full Lifecycle

GD Mission Systems is looking for a hands-on Cyber Security Analyst / SIEM Engineer to strengthen our cybersecurity monitoring and vulnerability management capabilities. If you enjoy turning security data into actionable intelligence—then leading the technical work from build to accreditation—this role is built for you. You’ll partner with teams across the Intelligence Community to deliver resilient monitoring, support compliance, and help keep mission systems operating securely.

About The Role

In this position, you’ll play a key role in both technical execution and leadership for cybersecurity programs spanning the full system lifecycle. You’ll work on monitoring and detection engineering, vulnerability management activities, and support accreditation efforts using established security frameworks and rigorous standards.

You can expect a role that blends engineering discipline with security operations—where your work directly improves visibility, response readiness, and compliance outcomes.

What You’ll Do

  • Engineer and operate SIEM capabilities to improve detection coverage, data quality, and security visibility across mission environments.
  • Support cybersecurity monitoring by developing and maintaining use cases, alerts, and correlation logic aligned to operational needs.
  • Drive hands-on technical execution while also contributing to the leadership of monitoring, vulnerability, and accreditation activities.
  • Coordinate vulnerability management efforts, supporting identification, prioritization, remediation tracking, and verification activities.
  • Contribute to accreditation programs across the system lifecycle, ensuring security controls and evidence are properly documented and validated.
  • Apply Intelligence Community security frameworks to ensure compliance and alignment with required standards and processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (security, engineering, operations, and program stakeholders) to improve security posture and reduce risk.
  • Troubleshoot and improve logs, telemetry pipelines, and detection logic to reduce noise and increase signal quality.
  • Maintain documentation supporting technical implementation, control mappings, and accreditation artifacts.

What You’ll Experience

  • A role at the intersection of security analytics, monitoring engineering, and compliance.
  • Real ownership of SIEM-related engineering work—building what the team relies on to detect and respond.
  • Opportunities to influence how monitoring and vulnerability management are executed across programs.
  • Exposure to Intelligence Community frameworks and accreditation processes that demand rigor and clarity.
  • Hands-on collaboration with security and mission-focused engineering teams.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong experience in SIEM engineering, security monitoring, and detection engineering (e.g., building correlation rules, use cases, and alerting logic).
  • Working knowledge of vulnerability management concepts and processes, including tracking and remediation verification.
  • Experience supporting accreditation activities or security assessment workflows (control evidence, documentation, or validation support).
  • Ability to apply and map security requirements using Intelligence Community security frameworks or comparable security standards.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills related to security logging/telemetry, data normalization, and detection performance.
  • Excellent written communication skills for technical documentation and evidence packages.
  • Comfort working in a team environment where you can both execute technical tasks and provide technical leadership.

Why GD Mission Systems

GD Mission Systems supports mission-critical work where security isn’t an afterthought—it’s a core requirement. You’ll be part of a team that values disciplined engineering, clear documentation, and measurable improvements to security posture.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation aligned to experience and role scope.
  • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits (medical, dental, vision options).
  • Retirement savings programs to help you plan for the future.
  • Paid time off and recognized work-life balance practices.
  • Professional growth through training, mentorship, and exposure to real-world security engineering challenges.

Ready to Make an Impact?

If you’re excited by SIEM engineering, monitoring improvements, vulnerability management, and accreditation support—especially in Intelligence Community environments—we’d love to hear from you. Apply today and join a team focused on securing mission systems end-to-end.
