ManTech is looking for a Cyber Security Engineer Lead to help strengthen mission-critical systems through secure architecture, hands-on engineering, and clear technical leadership. You’ll bring deep technical expertise to support cybersecurity engineering efforts, collaborate with stakeholders across the organization, and apply proven architectural principles to keep systems resilient, protected, and ready for what’s next.

What You’ll Do

• Lead cybersecurity engineering activities across the lifecycle—planning, designing, implementing, validating, and improving security controls.
• Demonstrate technical experience with CDS technologies on the NCDSMO approved products list, ensuring solutions align with approved standards and operational requirements.
• Apply cybersecurity architectural principles including:
  • Defense in Depth
  • Resilience
  • Integrated Security Operations
• Contribute to and/or review security architecture decisions to ensure they are practical, maintainable, and aligned with mission needs.
• Support the development and execution of security engineering recommendations, including evaluating tradeoffs and documenting rationale.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, program leadership, and stakeholders) to ensure security requirements are addressed early and effectively.
• Help ensure cybersecurity solutions are measurable, auditable, and operationally effective—not just theoretical.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, helping raise the bar on secure design and implementation.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong cybersecurity engineering experience with a demonstrated ability to lead technical work and influence outcomes.
• Knowledge of CDS technologies listed on the NCDSMO approved products list (or proven experience working within approved/authorized technology frameworks).
• Familiarity with and practical understanding of cybersecurity architectural principles, including:
  • Defense in Depth
  • Resilience
  • Integrated Security Operations
• Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders—translating security requirements into actionable engineering plans.
• Comfort working in environments where security, compliance, and operational readiness are top priorities.
• A mindset focused on continuous improvement—identifying gaps, recommending enhancements, and driving adoption.
