Cotton Citizen
Design Trend-Driven Apparel Graphics That Actually Ship
At Cotton Citizen, we’re looking for a Junior Graphic Designer who loves turning ideas into polished, production-ready artwork. You’ll support our creative and apparel design teams by developing fresh graphics, prints, and visual concepts for clothing and accessories—helping bring seasonal trends to life with clean execution and great attention to detail.
If you enjoy working in a fast-moving design environment, collaborating closely with others, and learning the end-to-end process from concept through production files, this role is for you.
About The Role
As a Junior Graphic Designer, you’ll be an essential part of the design pipeline—supporting both creative development and production readiness. You’ll help create trend-driven artwork, prepare files for print and manufacturing, and maintain consistency across collections.
What You’ll Do
- Support creative and apparel design teams in developing graphics, prints, and visual concepts for clothing and accessories.
- Create trend-inspired artwork that aligns with Cotton Citizen’s aesthetic and seasonal direction.
- Develop and refine design concepts based on team feedback, references, and brand guidelines.
- Prepare production-ready files for printing and apparel applications (ensuring sizing, resolution, and output specs are correct).
- Work across multiple formats including print graphics, placement artwork, and accessory visuals.
- Maintain design consistency across collections by following established styles, color usage, and file standards.
- Organize and maintain assets (files, versions, and source materials) so projects stay trackable and efficient.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design intent translates accurately to production.
- Stay current on trends and translate visual research into new artwork directions.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong fundamentals in graphic design—layout, typography, composition, and visual hierarchy.
- Proficiency with design tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; other relevant tools are a plus).
- Comfort preparing print-ready files, including understanding of resolution, color modes, and file handoff basics.
- A keen eye for detail—you care about clean edges, correct sizing, and accurate placement.
- Creative curiosity with the ability to take direction and iterate quickly.
- Good communication and comfort working closely with designers and production stakeholders.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple projects, versions, and deadlines.
- Portfolio required—showcase your best work, including any apparel/print-related projects if available.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with screen print, DTG, sublimation, or other production processes.
- Exposure to apparel graphic placement (front/back/placement sizing, repeats, and scaling).
- Knowledge of file standards for manufacturing and print vendors.
Benefits
- Hands-on mentorship from an experienced creative team.
- Real project ownership—you’ll contribute directly to graphics and prints that make it to production.
- Creative growth through feedback, iteration, and trend research.
- Collaborative team environment where design and production work together closely.
- Opportunity to build your apparel/print portfolio with production-ready work.
How to Apply
Send your resume and a portfolio showcasing your strongest design work. If you have examples related to prints, graphics, or apparel, include them—your best, most relevant projects will help us understand your fit fast.
